I am a newb on newbie island trying to gather flax stems yet I only ever get flax seeds. I tried planting the seeds but it has been several days and nothing has happened. Am I doing something wrong?

You must exit first of newbie island, if you gather wild plants and gather flax you only have flaxe seeds. In the servers the flax last around three days to grow.

The only place you can get flax stems on newbie island is the NPC village farm. 10 minute cooldown between harvests and the amount is random, always 10 quality.

Crops don't grow on newbie island and the gathering update removed flax stems from wild plants.
