The quern-stone doesn't seem to work.

Bread and Cheese are the only 0 Cooking lvl recipes that increase cooking.

There are no animals to get milk from and there is no way to get flour.

Therefore nobody can get the Tailoring skill meaning half the buildings and items in the game can't be made.

Devs please fix this please.

You can use Cook at a campfire and get Cooking gains. Cooking game meat will let you gain at 0. This goes for almost every meal you can cook with Farming except the meals end up being higher quality.

Cook wild beast meat on the cauldron, worked for me. I'm at tailoring for some time now, it jumps quite fast too even on the q1 food.

How do you grind wheat into flour using a quern stone?


I have built a quern-stone; Const Mat Prep = 65

I've got Farming to 94 and Procuration to 60.

When I put wheat into my Inventory and attempt to interact with the quern-stone, the only option I get is to pick it up.

Empty hands makes no difference. Wheat will not equip in my hands.

How does this thing work?

They are corrently not implemented.
Same with BeeHive, Windmill, and WinePress.

A lot of the cooking ingredients aren't implemented.

If you have the appropriate prerequisite skills you can cook game meat on a fire using the Cook menu, not the Farming menu, and it will let you improve your Cooking skill. You might have to equip a stone or iron pot for it to show up.

i have tried it all and nothing helps.. i dont get any points in Cooking

Seen another person post about this problem (unless that is you), but no idea what is wrong with it.
It could be a server issue. Have you asked if others on your server can train it?
If they can, then maybe it is your client that is bugged. Try reinstalling the game (this include delete the game folder after Steam uninstall).

I think you need a big cauldron to start real "cooking". Then, you have to light it up, and ONLY after that, cooking option will show up. You'll need a primitive cooking pot or its metal version as a tool (equiped).

That is quite strange. I was able to cook on the campfire, and actually get some cooking experience. I will have to check again, though, since I have a kitchen now.

All others have same problem. Serveradmin dont respone to my question, so not much to do then...
You build and build for many hours, and for that i can now change server if i want to try it all out.

Couple of issues here:

1. You can cook without the "cooking" skill. The Cooking skill really should be something like "Culinary" skill. Once you have it, and if you use one of the more advanced cooking objects (oven, big cauldron, kitchen) and if you use a more advanced cooking pot, you will get a bigger list of foods to cook than you get without the skill opened up.

2. With cooking up in the 90s, using a copper cooking pot, and a big cauldron I get around a hundred or more recipes to cook, most of which are multiple ingredient dishes.

3. More ingredients are better.

4. You cannot raise cooking skill above 29.99 until you have Procuration to at least 60.

I am using Copper cooking pot, equiped
I have tried to Beast steak, Boiled Eggs, potatoes, garbage and none of em giving me cooking skill increase.
I have 100 in Procuration.
I light the fire in either "Camp fire", Cauldron, or kitchen.
Then i Right click on it and get menu up with Cooking, prepare.
Then i get somewhat arround 15-20 diffirent dishes.

Cook wolf/moose meat. Is the "Fried Beast" recipe. Alternatively, you're currently able to make the following recipes:

Potato with mushrooms
Wild soup
Stuffed rabbit (chicken meat kind of rare, 1 in 10 from harvesting 90+ quality chickens)
Vegetable soup
Stew cabbage
Pea porridge
Boiled potatoes
Boiled eggs
Compote
Wild meat with peas
Fried eggs

There are also quite a few recipes with fish and vegies, haven't done any fishing as of yet, but there is that too if the fishing works. I personally like the Fried Eggs (6xegg, 1xonion) for simple food, or the
Potato with Mushrooms for advanced (4xboiled egg = 24eggs, 4xmushrooms, 2xonions. (Edited to Add: YES, that's right, no taters in taters with shroom recipe, lol).

Dunno exactly what your issue is. I used the basic game meat recipe to grind all the way to 90 in cooking, not sure why you're having a problem. I used an Oven, not a camp fire or cauldron, maybe it?

Just thought of something, make sure the Green "Up Arrow" is visible on the skill you are trying to grind. Sometimes I find I must have accidentally clicked on it to lock it from leveling, might be the case here, just verify.

Thank you all for possible solutions.

The solution for my problem was to move server. I brought my own Dedicate Server and set it up allmost standart and got cooking last night.
No problem here... so the other server must have had some special settings, to keep people from getting skill points in that.
The Admin have never gotten back to me, with my question.

Cooking game meat gives me farming skill.

That's because you are cooking it via the Farming skill tree, use cooking...

You can cook game meat and gain both skills depending on which you use...

And WHY the hell do you need tailoring to build something?

You make leather via procreation not tailoring...
