Torches too ineffective for sieging

Post by MartialDoctor » 11 Jan 2016, 21:34

The idea of using torches as simple siege weapons is great. Unfortunately, they do so little damage to make them completely ineffective as such.

Please buff them so that they can actually be useful. A couple people with torches should be able to take down a simple wooden wall with a little time.

I disagree. Try naphtha grenades to take down walls. Using torches to siege structures should be as difficult as using militia weapons against an armored foe.

Possible, but very, very difficult, unless you have numbers.

Well, if the wall is wooden, don't you think they should take more damage simply do to the fact that it is fire... either that or allow them to be lit on fire so that they take damage over time, I would think.

I haven't tried naptha grenades but I will keep that in mind, thanks.

Made of wood =/= it would easily burn.

True enough. Logs take more time to get started but they do, indeed, burn. If one had a naptha coated torch, I would assume that one would be pouring some of that naptha onto the logs and setting them on fire.

Naptha burns very easily. If burning naptha were to be put onto a wooden wall, that would, eventually, start to burn as well.
