I have updated all my drivers, java, windows, everything else I can think of. I've restarted the computer, reinstalled a few times, and had steam check the files each time. Maybe I'm not using proper search terms, but I can't seem to find anyone with the same issue.

what exactly happens?
did u turn off overlay's ? steam, mumble, ts

also a player had issues whit a msi motherboard program some audio controller that was bullying him

u sure u got dx11 supported gpu?
what graphic card do u have?

I've turned off all the overlays I know that I have. Steam only has a global overlay setting, right? There's not a per-game overlay setting I can switch off? Yes, my gpu is dx11 supported. Every other dx11 game I play runs 100% smoothly.

What happens is I go to the library tab in steam, choose LIF:YO. I hit play game, then steam pops up some window for a split second (so fast I cant even see what it says). During this split second, the name of LIF:YO in the list of all my library games goes to saying "LIF:YO - Running". Then that split-second window goes away, and another second or so later the "- Running" suffix to the game's name in the list goes away.

Where can I find my crash logs? That will probably help you guys diagnose my issue

I am getting this message and it all started happening when I installed my EVGA GTX 970 video card. Thing is that whenever I click "Cancel" 2 or 3 times the game starts with no problems at all. Its starting to get annoying tho. and yes I have downloaded the latest video card drivers and I did uninstall my old video card drivers before installing the new video card.

The GTX 970 has a ton of full screen issues across gaming. Honestly I feel sorry for you (because it is all over the place.) Sometimes they work well, but there's so many problems with them and fullscreen out there...

There may be something that can be done to help you, but you may be facing a hardware problem. (Seriously, the search results for this are massive in number.)

I run on Windows 7 still, so not sure I could help much. I did recently buy a 960 gtx though and have not ran into any issues.

I have been running into the same issue, and it has only started since last week. I am running a GTX 980 and for the past two months I haven't had a single issue and then out of thin air it started with that error during the first two attempts of launching the game. I am not at my home but my basic specs, if I recall correctly, are as follows:

Intel i7-4790
ASUS Geforce GTX-980
ASUS Z-97A Mobo
32 GB Ram (Forget the brand)
Windows 10 64bit

Saw an erroneous message about my own video card once today. First time I have seen one, this on Windows 7 with an older ATI card that has had no issues with anything I have tried to date (it is getting closer to outdated though, need to upgrade before too long!)

Mine said nothing about full screen, just that it 'wasn't DX11 compatible.' Which is crazy, because it is a DX11 compatible card.

This error in noting which cards are suited to DX11 needs a little looking at, I guess.
