Metal type for weapons and armor

Post by Seton » 21 Apr 2016, 21:31

I was wandering if you plan on implementing a difference in stats based on the type of metal a weapon or a piece of armor is made out of. Currently the Quality of the weapon or armor is what affects damage and durability. as it is in game you can make weapons out of Gold and or silver and copper iron or Steel but end result is same damage, and or damage resistance no matter what material is used. Weapons and armor made of gold and silver were traditionally ceremonially used. I would like to see a difference in the resistance and damage and weight based on the raw material used to forge these items. example Steel is lighter than Iron so maybe a set of armor made from steel would give same resistance but be lighter so you would be less encumbered. For weapons they should do more damage against armor made with a lesser metal. As well as Quality being taken in to affect maybe say a difference of 25% increase from Iron to steel in damage for weapons and weight for armor. Then you have Vostaskus Steel do you plan on allowing weapons and armor made from this for say and end game content and if so it should be stronger and provide better stats then Steel , or Iron or copper etc.. Keep up the good work and thank you for taking the time to read.

I wouldn't mind seeing the gold and silver items be ceremonial more than functional.

That said, the items should be what suffer directly, nothing else.

They already stated that the plan for advanced metals was more durability rather than better stats (because honestly nobody wants to see everything have to be made into the top end stuff to be worth a darn.) I think that's a pretty solid point there, but the gold and silver as ceremonial items would be a cool touch.

agreed, is vostaskus steel would end up whit the same sword quality /damage than its so not worth the hassel
why waist iron on weapons if u can make em from copper for the same result, in reality copper is alot softer and weaker.

post this in suggestions page perhaps?
