That mushrooms and berries are invisible and have to be gathered by random chance AND decrease the soil quality on each find is a bummer.

There are still other threads about soil quality, but I suggest an overhaul of the mushrooms and berries system:

Make it like the herbs system, search for mushrooms and berries and they become visible and can be gathered with a sickle.

And ofc the soil quality should not be decreased by finding stuff at all ...

id like to be able to plant berry bushes, or make a mushroom box or something to where we can grow them the same way we do crops.
All a berry is is a seed pouch basically. why can i drop it in a hole and get a bush? or throw a mushroom into a dark damp corner and reap the benefits?

I have a feeling if they dont change how they are collected then they will either be a high price commodity or completely ignored. and any time a feature or function in a game is completely ignored that means its done wrong and needs to change.

Right now, i can sit on a piece of dirt and look for mushrooms and decrease the quality all the way down to zero and only find maybe 1 or 2. Maybe finding them in bunches of 3 or 4, increase the frequency you find them, or make them easier to find in swampy areas(which may be true i havent tested)

Or, as I said in a different thread, be able to plant them in an herb garden. Any of the above works for me as well though.

I still don't understand the rationale behind just 'why' harvesting mushrooms lowers the soil quality anyway.
