Floating Objects - Still an Issue

Post by Hieve » 01 Oct 2016, 00:05

Hello there,

it looks like you can abuse floating objects still pretty heavy. Server Settings is atm 0.2m above Ground for movable objects height but this is not working when you attach a Object to a Building for example...

here some "great" creations that were made by people to easily raid bases

if devs cannot put a lifelike gravity, maybe they should put falling damages, with breaking legs, heavy damages etc...

this kind of construction could be dangerous for the player abusing the gravity... :D

You may need server-rules.

You can find out in the logfile who (CharID) has been when (Timestamp) and where (GeoID) at this place and placed an object.

When you are sure, you just look up the regarding account in your DB and set isactive to Zero.

It does not undo the structures but the builder will see "Your account is banned" on next login.

We had to do that for two "specialists" on our Server recently.

The Key is the Geoid. You do know where the objects are placed. This is the Point where you can begin your hunt.

The Server should limit these things already, admins have really better things todo than going behind players and watch exactly what they do.

I just really hope there are some optimizations on these thing or how will it be in mmo fights?

It's the same. The devs don't see the walls as impenetrable barrier. They are working on siege ladders and climbing that will make getting on the wall even easier, but till it's done they are allowing this stacking of logs or barkboxes as it's players effort to do it for the same targeted effect.
The defense is good terraforming, multiple walls layers (you will use the ladders for 1st and 2nd, but then what) with ditches between them and of course players defending the walls. Building a wall is way too easy to make it the ultimate defense on it's own. Making the teraforming plus the multiple walls is another level.

uargh, so this means for me no MMO till theres a real solution for this...

If they would be physical stackable it would fine, but it's like you can anker them to ANY kind of Object...

To be clear, the stacking of logs and boxes requires that they touch each other in some way. You cannot just 'float' items, though they can be turned in such a way that they are only barely touching each other.

That should not stop you from playing in the open beta though. If you think that walls will protect you then that would be a reason to not play. Because that would be unreasonable expectations on your part.

they just need to touch the walls... it takes like 5-10 minutes to cut enough wood and put them onto the walls to even go into large castle walls >.<

if your underpowered, your castle will not give you any chance of surviving, which sucks a bit, when you get raided by especially just 2-3 people, that COULD NOT stack themselves ontop of each other to be tall enough to jump over !

It's just an Unfair Game Mechanic and needs to be solved in some way, especially in MMO!
