Small bug: Process won't shut down on game exit

Post by Windrax » 23 May 2015, 11:45

Hello there,

I am reporting a small bug that happens when I exit the game through the in-game menu. I don't know if it only happens to me but when i click on "Exit" in the in-game options menu the game closes but not the process. I have to manually shut down the LiF process in the task manager of Windows by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL.

Sometimes it's bugging me because I want to close steam but it tells me the game is still running so I have to shut down LiF manually in the task manager.

My computer has an AMD processor, an AMD GPU and runs Windows 8.1 64 bits.

Thank you a lot for considering this matter.

Your's,
WX

Hi all,

I'm seeing the same problem here. I exit the game using the in-game esc menu's exit button. The game appears to close but the underlying process (called "Life is Feudal: Your Own client" launched by yo_cm_client.exe) still exists...

After exiting the game this process does not consume any cpu, disk or networking capacity. The only thing it does is take up some memory (in the order of 25-75 MB). This even happens without connecting to any server/actually playing the game.

My best guess would be some kind of memory leak is causing this? Perhaps some menu's that aren't deallocated by the exit routine?

The setup I'm using: Intel i7-2670QM@2.2GHz, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M, Windows 8.1 Pro N 64 bits.

Hope that this information may help solving the problem!

Sincerely,
M

Hi everyone!

Great game you guys are coding even if there is still much todo.
Have a bit different issue, that the game DOES NOT close at all. I have to pres Ctrl+Alt+Del to close it from the task-manager.

Would be nice to correct this bug.

Thanks, ModsWanted

Same here. This is old problem. From the early access times.
I always kill my steam process to stop this. Have to kill steam process cuz steam wont shut down in normal way. It says "Please close Life is Feudal: Your Own before exiting Steam."
I dont see any life is feudal related processes in my task manager, or then im blind. So have to kill steam instead. Start up Steam again and everything works again.

Hey folks. Did any of you host a server locally via create world during that time? Or you only played on other servers?
