Before the most recent patch, it was easy to use corners and build next to walls, utilizing more space efficiently. We only needed the majority of the land to be flat.
Now it is impossible to use these edges or corners, and results in an ugly empty patch that does nothing but get characters stuck in it. Right next to the wall, or other buildings, is very hard to build beside. All our current buildings, if destroyed, wouldn't be able to go up in the same spot.
I don't know if it's a bug or a feature, but I'm posting here to see if anyone else has issues with this change.
Aesthetically, this is an awful idea that will make city building less of a creative process. It's not flexible enough. It prevents some clipping but completely changes how your layout will look (hint: a mess).
Technically, while it makes more sense for all the ground to be flat, this leaves a lot of awkward spots that are hard to build on. Forget building on a hill or anything that isn't already mostly flat ground. You now have to terraform even more to get a workable plot prepared. If you've terraformed your walls upward, your leaving a dead spot with no use.
