Terraforming options need to be more useful

Post by Fyxen » 11 Sep 2015, 15:07

Hi!
I suggest that the team as soon as possible takes a look at changing some of the terraforming options. Like in the situation showed in this picture, there are no way of flattening ground so that the wall we want to build actually follows the natural ground, and we can make the gatehouse in the end to the left.
Image

The only way to flatten here is with a downward slope, and the wall of dirt will be so high that by the time we reach the bottom; no room for a gate. This can be fixed with something like "flatten ground natrualy" or something.

Also, being able to remove stone, and still build on it should be an option. Not just dig a tunnel and block the tile for terraforming.

Hope you take this feedback, and actualy work towards a better way of terraforming

if the ground is steeper than 0.5 a tile than u stil digging in, wich is oky on its own , problem is when u go to deep u hit rock instead of dirt and that u cant flatten or build on

Yes, tried starting from the bottom. Problem then is that the wall will be half burried in the dirt, kind of removing its stopping power

in medieval times they builded castle's ontop of rock mountains not becouse of the amount of space bhut becouse of the added advantage of haveing natural defences, this ment shapeing the rock they where building on, this is a thing we can not do (or not yet do) ingame.
we are stuck to a pretty flat dirt area, oky this does indeed balances out the castles bhut if u ask me it also kills the diversity
(small example of a castle builded on a "mountain" (rocky hill, no hill's high enoph in belgium to be classed as mountains) http://www.chateaudelaroche.be/indexuk.php enjoy

I am STUCK completing a road for above mentioned reasons.

At one point our perfectly straight road had to lower a hill.

Part of the hill is rock, and so I figured "dig a tunnel upward" would just remove the top rocks, but alas, I now have the start of a MINE structure in the middle of my road!

I tried to ignore that and just flatten the 2nd of 2-tile-wide-road next to it, but all surrounding tiles seem locked form terraforming.

SO my roadbuilding activities are at a loss to continue.... At least wanting a STRAIGHT road.

Thanks for everything in the game, so much effort went into it, thank you thank you thank you!
