The cost for skins

Post by Universum » 10 Dec 2017, 17:37

So talking to my guild, alot in the guild like skins but why on earth is the price $100-$200???
The cost of skins should be $1-$10
Alot more people would buy them at a lower price, at its current price is seems like your only catering to the whales and thats a deadly cycle that kills games. I already put alot of money into this game but i think ill hold off until i see this change, i don't want to pour money into a game that will just die due to catering to whales only.

Skins are not required at all to fully enjoy the game. They are optional, nothing more. Also, once they're bought, they're permanent and bound to account - i.e any character on the account within the region can use them if the character has required skill and armor. I really don't understand how selling skins can kill the game, though. It's not like people can buy actual armor or weapons. There's no Pay To Win model here. Also, once we have our Steam release, you'll be able to play the game for merely 10 bucks (that's how much ticket to Abella costs) ;)

Just some more feedback

A fur hat -->reskin<-- costs more than Real counterpart! lol

Just rethink your micro transaction model, would you rather sell 10k hats for $0.50<->$2.50 each? or sell 20 hats for $10-25 each?

I can do some simple math here

$0.50<->$2.50 X 10000
$5000-$25000

OR

$10<->$25 X 20
$200<->$500

No it doesn't damage the gameplay if I don't buy the current skins, but it also eliminates completely any desire to buy skins at such prices in the future.

Does it have to be exactly the numbers I just posted above? no those numbers are ultimately up to you.

I've got some of the skins from the subscription that came with the starter pack. I finally got to try one out today. It seems cool, but next month I'll probably get a skin that doesn't pertain to the skillset or armor that I have. Which is fine I guess but not really motivating to keep a subscription.

The only reason I got it was for the tickets, and the god's favor which equate to more tickets if I feel so inclined. So far it has come in handy because I have been trying out different servers seeing which one I like the most.

Back to the original point though, I have this basic skin, which is ok looking, but shameful at the same time. I feel like anyone who sees me is going to be like there goes the dumb fool who spent money on this game. I mean honestly that is the first thing I think of when I see someone with some exotic skin. Even though I have gods favor from a starter pack i got, I refuse to use it on anything other than a ticket out of mere principle.

I can see the merits of lowering the price and reducing the stigma a bit, but greater minds than me are at work here in the pricing structure and there is something to be said for having the skin for forever (assuming the game lasts that long.) I also understand that operating the servers cant be cheap and something reoccurring needs to occur for the servers to be maintained even for those not paying for the game. Just my humble opinion. Anyone wearing a some exotic and expensive armor skin is likely to get ridiculed by me and others though especially as more players start playing the game and arent as hard core as those who have been following the game for the last 3+ yrs.

He is right. Skins aren't going to sell enough and steam is going to rage over the prices.

I suppose the attempt at deterring the ingame purchase addiction through price deterrence is lost on most gamers.

I guess because it's in the game, you should have it, because why not? You've earned every penny of the continued utility it takes to make the ingame item available to you. From roots to ripened fruit. You can have it all.

If that is all the Steam Locusts have to complain about, I would consider it a win.
