What kind of food should I use? I don't have my crops at full swing yet so will I need to run around and scavenge as much Wheat as I can or what?
I have the coop built with chickens and hares inside, but the server has been down since then. Hoping they haven't starved since I didn't have food in there initially lol.

I tried 5 snares, different places, waited around 2 hours, one of the snares even desappeared, but no catch, no hares/chickens. What am i doing wrong?
TheoProxy wrote:And what about "track the weak animal"? this action often reveals tracks to nowhere. Tried to set snares mostly where those steps end, but no result.

Tracks lead to the closest moose and/or wolf.
If there is none, one is spawned.
Set Snare traps for small animals, and Animal traps for large animals.

Is it confirmed that Animal Traps work? I've had great luck with snares, but I haven't caught anything from my animal trap after a full day of planting it every 2 hours. Any tips on that would be appreciated.

Rodrick wrote:This sounds great Dean, however my chickens and hares died of old age within the 24 hrs. Is that a server setting issue, or is that a lack of food? I noticed all of the food was gone when I got back (aprox 8-10 hrs)

Noodleguitar wrote:I have also not caught anything in the big traps, not sure if I'm doing something wrong. A group of us tried to lure a wolf into one trap but that didn't seem to work.
Also, when the server is updated, there is a good chance that your traps have reset (if they were sprung they're then back to deployed)

Animals do seem to die at age 7, and aging seems to be really really fast.
I would love it if one animal year was 24 RL hours.

A safe bet would be for every chicken's year do a harvest.
