I can agree, this is a game breaking bug for some jobs! it should be really fixed asap..
You are right, they still have Status turned on but you do not see it.
It is the same with doors, they are still open but appear closed.
You may find out if you use an item with wrong Status (door, light source) you have to use it twice to see the Status change. This is because on first use it Closes the door which appears to be closed in your Client. On the second use it reopens the door again and Status on Server and Client is the same.
Not that big of a deal for doors and lights, more anoying. A big deal for users without any mod for using tanning tubes, drying Frames or worst a windmill.
