1. Can this be done?
2. What would be the most efficient way of doing this?
3. Can I use the basic shovel, that's all I have so far.
4. Will I need to reinforce the walls inside, if so, how?
Thanks in advance, hopefully I'll be able to jump on and do it in a few hours tonight. Or at least get started.
I am not sure what it is exactly you are trying to do. For me, I once tried a similar idea and tried to have a gate in front of a tunnel entrance. I am not sure if it can be done. Even in GM mode. Maybe if you make the building overground first and edit the database to change their altitudes but I'm not sure how that would even work.
Say you found a 5 tile high terrain wall (snow)
- If you try to dig a tunnel on it, a 2-tile high opening will appear at the 3rd to 5th tile height of the terrain wall.
- Tile 0 - 3 will still have a terrain wall
I played around with this quite a bit but could never get it to work
If you do not care for
1) buildings underground in a tunnel or
2) the tunnel entrance having a gate immediately in front of it
Then yes, perhaps what you are saying can be done
PS: You need a pickaxe not a shovel & Reinforcing requires you to have 90 terraforming + a carpenter / logger helping you out as Hardwood Boards and Building Logs are required
