Earth movement

Post by Arterus » 28 Nov 2015, 11:13

Hi everyone,

My friends and I are still brand new to the game. We have started over a few times, so that we can organise ourselves better.

Last night we set up a farm, a large terraformed area surrounded by wattling fences.

We planted crops.

We came back this morning to find the ground is NOT terraformed, it is not flat, it's all over the place and grass has re-grown.

Is this a bug?

Why has our carefully terraformed. flattened and plowed land done this!?

Thanks

Art

Yes, it's our own server, rented from Black Box.

The earth has moved overnight. MASSIVE amounts of it.

We terraformed an entire area (and plowed and flattened it) to 14.

When we logged on this morning, HUGE areas of it 10+ squares were 14.3 - 15.5 high.

How and why did this happen?

Anyone?

Thanks,

Art

No,

We are 99% sure that the added land was higher than it was originally (as in before we'd touched it.)

I took a screenie here :

http://s12.postimg.org/c845h5nul/Weird.png

we had actually cleared some at this point, but it illustrates the issue.

The area I've highlighted in yellow was the original flattened ground. ALL of that land was terraformed, plowed, and flattened to 14.

Overnight, the areas in the top of the image raised themselves to the heights you can see 14.9, 15.4 etc.

The reason we can be so sure about the height of the ground is that the area we terraformed was an average of around 14.3, so we didnt need to go too high or too low with anything to level it. 15+, even 14.5+ we would have looked for another spot.

Thanks,

Another Nasty bug that made it to release That shouldn't have ... I havent experience this bug myself but my list of known bugs after release that ive dealt with is upwards of 25 , some of which have been fixed . I suggest everyone keep a list of crazy bugs and report each one to the mantis tracker , we don't want these bugs persisting as most of them should not have made it through release (we get it , all games are a little buggy but this one was beyond arguing). Let's help fix this game , it's a great idea but the developers unfortunately didn't test it enough on a wide array of systems .
