I've been digging for DAYS. Literal DAYS and my digging is 0.00/3.74

I've only gained 3.74 Digging. I mean I played Wurm Online, so I understand grind, but digging for 4-ish hours a day for 2 days now only yields 3.74?

check the system tab for info on skill increases.

A) are you lowering ground, or tunneling (more increase)?

B) it is capped by your artisan skill

ie: my artisan is 42, my digging is maxed at 29.99 until my artisan hits 60

I definitely have the arrow up. I'm flattening ground. Both raising and lowering it.

I think you will get better increases if you create a mining pick (equip it) and then start digging a tunnel somewhere.

If your lucky you will find stone, but I've been digging 20+ hours RL and only soil.

Digging is increased solely by mining with a pickaxe. Using a shovel to dig increases the Artisan skill. IMO they should change the skill's name to Mining, as it's less confusing that way.

In order to level up digging, you need to dig the tunnel.
In order to level up mining, you need to mine ore.

Good advice.. Instead of playing the game read about it... So that I can find out that in order to gain digging I need to mine.

Then to gain mining, I have to mine ore. That one at least makes sense. I wonder what else is broken.
