Well auto clicker and smarter macros are definitely the way to go, because doing it all alone ...
Yet there aren't many other options, having it x10 like in YO would be way way too easy and fast (much shorter longevity of the MMO itself).
I got to 60 forging (last tier skill) about 14 hours ago, which would mean about 28 hours after I started to play the MMO. Yes it was hardcore power grind (had 2 days off) as I was main blacksmith and metal tools early on are speeding up the entire guild's development speed (+weapons ofc), but despite the first reactions I did have a good 9 hours sleep. To say even more - I was able to clean the house, visit the gym, jog few km as the weather was great, visit the grocery store and cook. So the time actually in front of the PC was about 12-13 hours and that were quite a few episodes of the show I'm watching lately - so yes Life is indeed macro as the "grind" is simple repetitive tasks. The rest is good planning and cooperation with the others (miners and constructors for me) to speed up the process. If it was 5 times faster as the old x1 speed ... well might have been grandmaster or close to that by doing the same and that would have been boring in the long run, isn't it?

Wattle fences? I would say that's pure masochism.
