Increasing grass rendering distance

Post by Dansk_viking » 14 Jan 2016, 23:14

I'm trying to find a way to increase the rendering distance for grass. I know that most people are usually talking about decreasing it to get an FPS increase, but I'd rather go down on other areas if I can just have the grass render further away. I hate the weird "bobbing in" of the grass as you go, and especially when crops disappear and leave a clean plowed field as you go to take in a view of your farmstead, and then magically pops into view again as you go closer (see pictures).

I tried in prefs.cs to set:
$pref::TS::grassRenderingDistance = "400";

It shows as "400" in the video settings in-game, but it doesn't change anything. Is there a way to increase it beyond the 100?
