I do not understand the operation of the furnace how it burns irone?

>add firewood, and metal ore.
>ignite
>click the 'bellows' button untill the temperature goes up to 1500
>keep the furnace burning by adding more wood untill the progress bar under the ore is completely filled
>'melt'

though, last night furnaces were broken on server 6.. idk about other servers or if there is a fix yet
