Hey guys...I just wanted to ask you for some information, how you guys treat performance problems. Is there anything we/I can do about it?

I currently run 3 servers with different hosters:

1) Gameservers.com
especially after patch last week, massive lags, massive night/day shift lag, relocated to netherlands and slightly better but still..

2) zap-hosting
even after relocation minimal, but continous lags every 1-5min, massive night/day lag

3) nitrado
continous lags, every couple of minutes, massive night/day lag


overall it seems, the more ppl the more terraforming/tunneling? the more lags.

Anyone got a good populated server atm without ANY lags? I dont care about money, hell I would even pay more than 100€/month for a smooth lagfree server without any troubles.

Do the slots, even if empty, produce any lag?

Yes, I would to....but..I dont have a clue, where to rent, what to tell those guys, what specs I would need for the machine, how to install the software, how to patch the game if updates, etc....I am not a server-guy P
I just want a lagfree server, no matter what.

If you're willing to shell out money go for a dedicated

Cheaper offerings include ovh.com who I'm with right now. I've also used nfoservers.com (Have been a long-time customer for CounterStrike, TeamSpeak, etc and recently got a dedicated)

Make sure the server has SSD, decent processor and decent RAM

You can host 3 LIF servers on a dedicated machine and have more control over what you can customize in your server

hardware what i would do
Dell T20 whit xenon 3.2ghz cpu
8gig ram (they normal come whit 4gig ram) if u got to much cash perhaps 16gig ram
samsung ssd 850evo 250gig
os: unix system
run steam cmd
thats how i would go

Hey Durgrim, there are many "Dedicated Life is Feudal" server guides out there. It will explain how to use SteamCMD, etc.

BTW: If getting a dedicated, if you have a friend who is a student they can get a Microsoft Dreamspark account and they can get a Windows Server 2012 license for free and that should save some money. Otherwise expect that as a "hidden" cost or a "gotcha" cost that you might otherwise forget
