Direct connect and local servers

I had a friend who recently purchased the early access of LIF: YO, he's been super excited about it all week. We've spent the past 2 hours trying to find a way so that he could connect to it. I'm able to connect to it fine while he is unable to.

What I'm asking, When will we be able to input an IP address/domain name into a type of direct connect box? Or are we goin to be limited to the current method of having to search the list like how it is in Rust.

If we are limited to the list method, When will there be a fix to be able to connect to dedicated servers on a local network?

do you use the "create world" option in game or the real dedicated server?
in case of the dedicated server you cant connect to yourself unless you modify a script
im at work now, i will post how we did it when i come home approximatly in 6,5h
if you want to start yourself, you have to mod the connection script in the scripts\client folder (hope i remeber correct)
