Post by Godfarva1 » 19 Sep 2014, 22:32

How are you supposed to mine if you are over burdened after 3 hits? and doesnt even dent the ground... I cant raise my mining skill even if im extracting iron ore from the ground

how do you start mining? you go to a random rocky terrain and select dig a tunnel downwards? how many times do you do the process to actually take away a chunk of land?

Varies.. for mining iron you would prospect for it, find it within 2 or 4 squares then plan to tunnel(lvl 60 terraforming needed). Make a plan to tunnel down one square for every square forward. So if you think the ore is 4 square down you want to start your tunnel 5 squares away from it headed towards where you think the ore is(leaving a little room for error correction).

TO TUNNEL: Use "Dig Tunnel" on the surface. takes between 3 and 50? actions to break the surface. After that you want to aim at the next square ahead on the side facing you(not the surface). Use the "Dig downward tunnel" or whatever its called. 10 to 30 hits should get you thru that one. Keep on that pattern, prospecting to keep on path and dumping your dirt, clay, rock ect in separate piles on the surface you can then dig up later to use.

If you mean the "Mining" skill, then you have to actually use that on ore tiles. Right-click an ore tile that's in front of you (you can't mine ore below you for some reason) and select the mining skill and the "mine <ore name> ore" or something similar action.

"Dig a tunnel" won't raise your mining skill.
