I recommend that you post updates on your coding progress every couple of weeks (even if there is no update) to prevent people from thinking your game is not in serious development.
This will take time away from coding, but will increase sales because of buyer confidence.
Many people on Steam have recently been burned by games like 'The Stomping Land' (that turned out to be a buggy cash grab). This makes regular updates to your steam and forum pages critical to prevent people from jumping ship early. Be active have your twitter accounts on your steam page. Let the internet know that you are alive as often as possible because everyone is nervous about early access games after some of the recent debacles.
