Still unable to place Stone Walls on an upward flat slope

Post by StormCorpsFinest » 29 Sep 2014, 20:06

I've got a wall on a flat elevation of 18, attempting to slope upward on a flat 18.3. The stone wall appears green within the square, but when I commence construction, I go through the action; and nothing happens after. No blue print is placed.

Currently playing on an up to date BlueFangSolution's server.

Any ideas?

Just great.... 8 hours flattening land with sloped walls in mind. Why people kept telling in general discussion that they work?!

Well they don't. I've had to stair step my stone walls and they're pretty ugly.

Oh well, when the mechanic works I'll just get a GM to delete and remake sloped walls.

Start with your "corner stone/or level".

Eg 18 flat and green.

Then go to terraforming and right click "FLAT GROUND WITH UPWARD SLOPE".

You will now see it as 18.5.

Keep going till you need it.

Remember to level off then use "Diagonals Walls" to move around.

Hope this helps.

Also looking for serious player to join "The Abby".

Did you actually build the wall or just sharing your expectations of how it suppose to work?

I start noticing that so many people give their advises not from their own experience but from someone else thought/ideas/fantasy's, this is not helpful at all. The person whom you advising to, will just waste his time trying to achieve something that is completely broken and should be dealt with by devs.
Hear me out, I'm not discouraging from helping others in need with advise but be aware that you can be responsible for making this game less fun to someone and creating impression that there is no bug or problem, when problem is actually there and have to be addressed ;)

Built a "Stone Wall" my self.

Front gate with 1 wall each side then Angled tower on the corners.

I then went from the Corner flat area like I described.

Good luck.

No offense, but from game mechanics perspective something that you can "spawn" as GM might not be possible to build in normal way. The same way devs had furniture inside of the houses and etc.

True, I did not think about "Flatting Ground with upward slope" be different than normal.

I shall try it out today.

I just read the post quickly an saw that some people where trying to "STEP" the terraforming instead of "upward or downward slope" action.

By the way, no offence when you where asking if first hand knowledge etc.

This bug is already in mantis, "minor" category, so we shouldn't expect it to be fixed soon. Unless it's escalated.

It is something that was working and now doesn't. I have proof because I built some. Now I can't. And in many cases this issue is not solvable by gm spawn either.

And yes, it is confirmed in mantis.

Yeah, I just spent two days digging out my palisade foundations (quite a few of them need to go up slopes) before I discovered this bug. Pretty annoying. :(

'morning.i have the same problem and would like to know if Devs will fix it soon or is not their priority. Just to know how to plan the perimeter of the castle...
P.S: I noticed that I can build on some tiles, but only with a specific direction of the wall, obviously the only one that I do not need
thx in advance :D

why would one want to use diagonal walls? Those are needed to change direction of the wall not the slope.

The bug is listed in mantis as a minor issue. So I guess it's not a high priority. I don't know how you can escalate it there but it's not that of a big deal comparing to others issues :|

No idea what you're talking about buddy. What you said does not work.

Diagonal walls? Those are meant for changing direction

Diagonal walls?

I WAS referring to them as you should remember to USE them SO YOU CAN change direction.

I shall try tomorrow to see if the work around is to start from the lowest level then go up.

Our server had a reset so I shall try to build it without being in GM MODE.
