Remove Map for Immersion. (MMO server)

For those who have never experienced will find my horrible opinion, but already experienced playing wurm for a while and I know that without the map have an incredible immersion in the game.
Learning to walk in the area, get lost in the forest, forcing the players to make roads (pave).
What we could have is a primitive only or not at all or rely on the sun and the moon compass.
do not know if the map in vain take MMO version but hopefully take.

Like any other realism option need can be switch on and off
In rust or Mortal prety tough find friends without map
hours and hours

While I was thinking this would be nice if it was a server toggle feature, players could get the map online and know where they are from landmarks. Some might already know most the map by now to not even need it.

sorry, but I think you do not understand the point I want to get,
when the MMO server is running there will be politics, wars, invasions, factions.

If you can tell its coordinates on the map to someone, anyone can find you.

It's almost the same thing as having a gps in medieval epoch and connect with your iphone asking reinforcement for friends.

as I said, who already experienced (played wurm) understand perfectly and I know the devs already played and know what I mean.

Quote wurm because I think one excellent game without pvp however, for me the LIF is enhanced wurm.

Yeah, I would suggest to remove the interactive map and replace it by equipable maps on paper where you can draw things on but don't always see where you are.

Mortal Online was way more immersive without a map. You actually had to study the landscape to know where you are.

If anyone's ever played Miasmata, that's a great example of how it can be done.

You make your own map using landmarks as reference to triangulate, everything else is fogged out.

Could even be combined with a new cartography skill, plus it would add a need for making a compass and paper for the map itself.
