Get a friend into the server, open you steam and go to servers, go under friends and you Should see the server, right click it and say ADD?

I generally push ~ when my game starts and copy paste joinToRemoteServer("69.197.2.222:42560") into the console to get connected to the server. You will need to find out what the IP is for the server you wish to join.

Somtimes the server will not be listed, despite friends being on. You may have to try several times, but it will work eventually.

Except it doesn't let me join a server that way.

After adding the server via the Steam client use the ingame browser to join.

No, it's not that hard really....

You favourite the server in the Steam client which then is permantly available in the LiF client browser under the "Favorites" tab.

I've tried getting the console up but nothing ever happens - I'm in UK so my ~ key is the one above Tab (I guess - it normally is) but I never get the console.
If I alt-tab out to windows there is another Lif window open that looks like a console but if I type anything in it the game just crashes.
