Boat / Ship construction

Post by Masterfull » 23 Sep 2014, 20:52

I think there should be also possibility to build a boat or ships to sail far sea to discover new lands. Sea pvp system would be nice as well :D

Ship battles would be great, although I would think it would be hard to implement now. Hopefully we could see something like it in the future. I can imagine trade routes and pirating would arise if boats were to be built and added to the game which would be fun. :Yahoo!:

I would love this, also pvp shouldn't be too hard. It would be ramming arrows and boarding.

Yeah. It's just that bobik told already: of course it would be cool to have them but not at that early stage of the game.

Great idea, but it seems like something to add after all the current systems are working.

I think this is a great idea maybe they could even take it as far as having like a wooden raft that one person can pilot them selves too bigger ships that take more then 4-5 players to use like lowering/raising, sails-etc..

Ships can be used to travel to different realms/servers (with compatible settings) with your character.

There won't be different realm / servers on the MMO, only one big world. But boats could be a good way of transporting very large amount of goods.

How about boats that you can dry fish and cook fish on passively while you are fishing. That way when you pull back into port you can sell everything to a dockside market in a ready to eat state.

I think ships would be an excellent addition. The crafting a naval mechanics is what makes Archeage great and LiF already has the crafting so if they added vessels they would knock it out of the park.

Ships have a lot of potential, i think they should be somewhere in the forestry line, what could be done is a simple hollowed out trunk can be a rowboat but advanced ships can require a shipyard made with masonry or something, there could be a skill called sailing. Larger ships could be made to require more than just one crew member, but multiple people manning it, it should only be a mmo feature. besides you can add merchant ships, warships that require siege engines to attack other ships and ultimately a lot of small islands that can only be accessible through sailing where you can start a civilization
