Cannot connect to local server

Post by Kittle » 13 Oct 2014, 01:25

I bought the game about an hour ago, and I cannot play locally

Ive tried the suggestions found here on the forums -- delete daemon folder, re-install the directx stuff.
nothing works.

I was able to connect to a random server and play a little bit, but I cannot connect to my local server.

After some poking around I ran cm_yo_daemon.exe from a dos prompt and got an error about mscvrt110.dll missing. A quick search of the game folder shows it IS indeed missing. Searching my windows folder did not find it either. I re-re-ran the vcredist installer under _commonRedist\directx\vcredist\2010 and the file is still missing.

how can I get this working locally?

you can find two seperate versions 2008/2010 in your vcredistrib folder in the daemon folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Life is Feudal Your Own\_CommonRedist\vcredist

my recommendation is to use all 4 versions that you will find. after that, restart your pc. and you should have no more problems. you dont need to go to microsoft.com, but you can if you like :)

The problem is the 2008 and 2010 versions did not work.
It wasnt until I installed the 2012 version that I was able to play.

I did install all 4 version the x64 and x86 of both 2008 and 2010, but only the x64 version of 2012

Keep the 2008 and 2010 versions. Other applications may be using them.

to be honest, i tried installing the 2012 and the 2013 (both the x64 and x86 versions) and it didnt help.

the 2008 / 2010 versions need to be there for the version of sql that they're using.

re-install those

if you still have problems, delete the 'daemon' folder in the game files.

you'll lose any existing saved games/characters, but the game will be playable.
