I've tried about 6 times to join a server or make my own, but it just hangs on the loading screen. I'm sure I'll enjoy the game.... if I can ever try it! Any advice?

OK, I am sure I am just missing something completely, but I have not once been able to actually play this game since buying it last week.
I've tried about 6 times to join a server or make my own, but it just hangs on the loading screen. I'm sure I'll enjoy the game.... if I can ever try it! Any advice?

Perhaps it does not 'hang' on the loading screen but you quit too early?
When you start LiFYO you either join an existing server or when you want to play alone you start your own server.
When you start your own server and join it it takes a few minutes until the game is ready (even on my decent PC with a Core i5 2500 CPU and 16 GB RAM) and your character eventually appears in the world.
