Training shields

Post by Wallack » 28 Sep 2014, 15:15

¿How to train shields?

We tried with the primitive shields, but or we are doing something wrong or their hitbox is broken.

A little bit of light in this matter?

From what I've read in another thread, hitbox is very small, that may be a cause of the problem.

This seems to be an issue with most of the other shields. A raised Pavise still has stabs going straight into my gut, as well as arrows and bolts aren't stopped by shields.

I have been able to hit the shield ill let you know what i did. from what i can remember.

Be in First person as it helps alot as you hit where you aim alot better.

Have the defender raise their shield and the attacker gets a thrusting attack set up.

have the defender or attacker move in slightly and try a thrust attack. If it misses move in SLIGHTLY, If it hits the defender in the torso move back. Keep doing this untill you get a shield hit.

Yep!
Right now fighting, is simply put:
A pain in the ass!
Hitboxes are relativly broken (dont know if its the hitboxes from the players, or the "hitboxes" of the weapons, that there is no impact. You can swing right through the torse of ppl with a 2 handed sword, without doing dmg).

But im pretty sure, that this is known, and will be worked on in time.

The way i leveled shields is:
Person who blocks: Hold your shield as high as you can

Person who attacks:
Thrust with your primtive shovel on the shield or take a trainings sword/2h sword and go for that overhead hits.

Aim for the thigh/hip area of the guy holding the shield. So if he has it in his left hand aim for his left thigh or left hip with a thrust.

Once your skill goes up it is more effective.

And yes arrows seem to bypass shields.
