Hello from Robbor!

Post by Robbor » 15 Nov 2013, 15:08

I just gotta say that a purely medieval simulation mmorpg has been a dream of mine since the early days of Ultima Online.

Many of the ideas of my dream mmorpg are almost identical to Bobik's vision so I'm sure to put some money on indiegogo for this project.

Hoping we are successful!

Yeah, same for me. I don't really get why 90% of medieval-ish games need to have supernatural stuff in it.
People cannot imagine the middle ages without orks, elves or dragons anymore, apparently.

If I had developed a game myself it would have been pretty comparable to this:
100% free of fantastical elements, accurate medieval gear (possibly actual historical factions), 100% PvP (except for wild animals), player-skill based combat, and player-driven factions/wars/economy and stuff.

LiF in its conceptional state is very near to my dream game. Hopefully, they deliver :P

Couldn't agree more Siegbert, I allways imagined PvE closer to games like ''deer hunter'' than diablo 3. There were wonderful examples of hunting practices in the middle ages that could be worked into the game.

Stalking deer with a bow, or possibly mounted archery.

Killing boars by impaling them on a spear for prestige.

Spear walls vs bears!

Even though there are no pets at launch, maybe we'll get falconing and hunting hares with sighthounds eventually? (I own two whippets so i'd love something like that)

As far as I read thats what they're aiming for pretty much as far as npc animals go and i love it!
