Mining tunnels bug

Post by Windrax » 18 Sep 2015, 06:32

There a problem when mining a mine tunnel above (as tested) or (probably) near another one.

Situation:
One of our guild member dug a tunnel (a mine) down a mountain.
After digging deeper and deeper, and finding no traces of ore, he decided he would dig another path in the tunnel, digging upward instead of downward (from the entrance of the tunnel).

This caused a problem; the first tunnel was blocked with a block *almost* filling up on the original tunnel "square" (by square i mean a normal square of soil) that was already empty (digged up).

So, digging a tunnel ABOVE another tunnel, in a mine, will fill up the first tunnel that was under it.

This is probably a quick fix since all you gotta do is check if there are empty squares (or an empty square surrounded by filled up squares) where the "digging" action of the tunnel will create a "filled up" "square" when digging... (and then deciding not to place the "filled up" square on that position.

Anyway, thx for caring and keep the good work up !

Mucho gracias love,
WindraX

i think tunneling stil needs alot more work, for example in a mine u can get huge rooms becouse u clear out all the rich veins of desired ore.
currently we can just build small narrow pathways, no below or above mineing posable

We have had a tunnel incident on our server as well. One of our players had a 'gap' appear when tunneling, and the actual 'hitbox' is larger than the gap. The result is that coming anywhere near the gap allows the player to fall through to the water below. Killing them and preventing their items to be recovered by a GM.

I asked the player to post the issue in Mantis, but I don't know if they did and I don't know enough about recreating it to post for him.

not to hard to reproduce, mine down and make a "circel" around a block , when going arround 1 block just go down 1 or 2 lvls , u end up hitting the first block u started whit and the gap appears as far as i know
