Wall crenelations too tall?

Post by Eidolan » 15 Nov 2015, 04:39

Am I the only one who has a hard timing seeing over the battlements of stone / castle walls? As of now you need to make "steps" with boxes / tables to be able to fire off walls effectively.

I think the battlements should be a little shorter and a fair bit wider.

This problem also seems to effect just about every kind of archer firing position, the murder holes on castle walls with hording are so small you often hit the floor instead of firing though the hole.

Windows in keeps are about useless to fire out of same with gate houses and towers, normally your best bet is to get on the ROOF of the building and fire down, making all the windows and battlements pointless.

Agreed.
We place building logs or crates all along the walls to make them useful. And I've seen many guilds do the same.

The point is it is not real life or super accurate vr simulation with hyperrealistic physics. It is a computer game with significant aspect being combat, range combat so making it playable is very important. Current wall design is unusable, need to be corrected.
