Animal detection range changed?

Post by Leaf » 18 Nov 2015, 23:21

Before the update I could usually sneak up on an animal and just get in range to tame it. Sometimes. Or shoot it a few times and wait for it to lay down.

Now they seem to run away if they even see me, not sure how we are supposed to tame animals with the new system.

Have more patience. There's a bit of an animation when you get within a certain range, but before they run off, that seems to be triggered by them being "used to you." Sometimes takes 5 seconds, sometimes over a minute. And during that time, they still sometimes decide to run off.

This animation kinda looks like a headshake/shoulder shrug deal.

Yes, have filled my barns and tamed many wild horses before. Since the update they seem to have changed though.

I noticed that too. Animals start to run away even where you are far away from them.

And careful I was hunting a deer, and suddenly he attacked me like a boar
