i have two things that i really really don't like:

cooking times with the prepare skill under farming. OMG its like 2-3 minutes per item. that is crazy. please speed up cooking, A lot!

why is the cooking skill after procuration? really? does a chef need to know how to clean poop and slaughter animals to make an apple pie?

I'm trying to feed an army and it literally takes hours to make enough to feed them for one meal.

Cooking should be its own tree, or at least before poop-cleaning.

I had the same problem today, until I got the tip: Equip a cooking pot, and the preparation times with farming become normal.
Nothing hints to that, but it should help you for now.

i discovered that last night when i finally hit cooking. Thanks for mentioning it.

there should be a system message saying, "this action is slowed without use of a cooking pot"
