Sawmill and trading post

Post by BlackStealth » 24 Nov 2015, 21:53

Does anyone can confirm if the trading post and the sawmill are up and running or is it still not implemented yet even after the release?

Thx

both model are up, functionnality nope... trading post will require a NPC that will sell for you things proposing them to players that will come to and trade

sawmill, still no news about it (some of people believe it needs rivers but no rivers are planned to be implemented)

So, they implemented those models, buildings and made them not functional on game release? Nice! If they don't work they should be removed full stop.

Those buildings can be functional with different mods.

the trading post can be used by players, it can be a rendez vous place for traders... no problem there

From what I've seen, more and more players are using trading post as tavern  It suits that purpose I guess, and can suit many others until proper mechanics are implemented.

Sure thing, but the mods for auction would have to be both server/client side and not many people would download mod just to play on the server. We use it on our server just as a meeting point, but it still seems pointless if it's not functional. Any kind of building could be a trading post really. I know that they were created to serve the purpose in the MMO version of the game, but sadly this is not an MMO anymore, it's YO.

Yes I know that. This game when it was in early alpha was supposed to be released as a Full MMO. Because of money, they decided to release YO as an early access first and then focus on MMO. I'm following LIF since very early stages of the game.

With it being entirely different game, talking here from developer point perspective. They should either make the trading post functional in YO on release or get rid of it and it leave it out for MMO version of the game.

We are leaving those buildings for roleplaying and modding purposes. As I mentioned earlier, people are using them. We will make them operational sometime later. We are also considering redesigning sawmill into a windmill sawmill, but that's not set in stone yet.

Just for info: I - and quite a few of the people I play with - like having objects purely for decoration purposes.

It would be nice to know before building, that they have no function yet, but else, its nice to have them.

No reason to take something out because its purely cosmetic. Its just nice to know before someone invests lots of materials and only finds out afterwards that there is no function.

So... tell me, do you build table and chairs? Probably so...

Yet they have no functioning purpose for the game...

in asherons call they sometimes did a patch witch upgraded some items bhut instead of keeping the old versions they rewrote it so u couldent get them anymore, resulted for the ingame market to skyrocket those items bhut that asside, people where always upset whit loss of them no mather how worthless the item was

also there is no point to remove things, only thing u gain whit it is data space on the harddrive.... honestly realy not worth the lack of diversity

But a trading post would still have some value, so now would be a good time to test the functionality.

Same for the sawmill.
