The title says it all... is there no practice spear? How does one practice and train with spear if there is no practice variant?

Yeah, but that's only to level. Basically, there is no practice spear and no way to train with a spear... it doesn't make any sense.

do a sideways hit with it on a person or a horse.. you will do between .5 and 10 pts of damage just make sure to get really close and watch anyone walking near you.. FYI the spear makes a EXCELLENT training weapon for armor as it is a real weapon and there is no minimum damage done required for the armor to skill up. So in theory you can skill a person up and do much less damage to them OR you can screw up badly and kill them lol

^ Which renders the spear a very inexpensive and easily made training weapon.

You guys are not following me. I'm talking about training. You all are talking about leveling your spear skill.

I'm saying training as in using it to practice with your faction as you would in a real PvP situation. You obviously don't want to kill your clanmates while training.

If you use the spear to train, as in the two of you sparring, you could accidentally kill your training partner.

All other weapons have a wooden training version, which only does minimal blunt damage, except for the spear.

You're not understanding the concept of game attack mechanics..any item/weapon in an overhead swing done at nose-to-nose length will "always" do blunt damage from the hilt to the head.

I got his point. Actually thdre is no training/non-lethal version for the Spear mastery skill. Though there is a quaterstaff for polaxes

The concept of training is using a weapon as you would in a real combat situation. The main purpose of a spear is to stab.

If you cannot use the spear to train combat moves you will probably need in real combat - it is NOT a training spear.

The weapon that SHOULD be a training spear - the quarter staff - is instead a training poleaxe. It should be transformed into a trainings spear - and a new one made for polearms. One that really has something weighty made of wood attached at the top.

Nope, no practice spear. I would recommend for sparring purposes using the Quarterstaff
