Private Claim Maintenance

I resized my claim to 72 tiles around 24 real life hours ago. I think the cost went up the next game day and the claim resized to 72 tiles.

I woke up today and the claim cost was around 7000 per day. It was like that for hours. I only had 14000 support points left so decided to make a trip to the city 30 minutes ago and when I get back with some coin the maintenance cost has increased to 14400 per day.

I haven't increased the size today or built anything on the claim so just wondering if this is normal? My support points from the claim also increased to 19600 when they were around 14000 when I left to go to the city. I haven't added any coins as of yet so not sure why that has increased either.

Is this normal? Any help would be appreciated.

I believe the cost is per in-game day (~5.5 hours or so), not per RL day.

Just in case, about what time did you leave and return, including time zone? If the maintenance does base off RL days It might have turned 12 midnight in Poland when you were out.

As for the mystery support points, I'm not really certain.

there really is something wrong with the maintenance! :evil:

a 3x3 base claim = 9 tiles = 450 maintenance (aka 50m/tile)
a 5x5 claim = 25 tiles = 1250 maintenance (still 50m/tile)

a 6x11 claim = 66 tiles = 13200 maintenance ! (200m/tile ?!?)
it should be 3250 maintenance - and would be a reasonable price somehow. but 200 maintenance per tile? wtf?

i mean who can predict this? how can one prepare for such increase?

needs to be fixed immediately. and a reimbursement for any extra spend coins is due!

PLUS downsizing a claim NEEDs to be implemented too.

Well, i didn't do the math but it says how many real days and how many games days. Unfortunately, it wasn't right because when i went back it had disappeared.

Claim cost is exponential, not linear. Same is true for every curve in the game. 0-30 skill is extremely fast, 30.1-60 is moderate, 60.1-90 is slow, and 90.1-100 is about 10x slower than 60.0-90.

And yes, I do agree that downsizing should be an option, if only for the "oops!" scenario when someone either misclicks or lag causes the wrong size to be selected.

Well, I probably missed that announcement.

Eitherway, i like the way players have to explore most of game mechanics.
Yet, when it comes to "make or break" base mechanics, the devs should not hide any information and make them clear.

Sidenote: "Exponential" is maybe the wrong word, it is more "steplike". Yet here you have to find the steps being in the dark.

Any way, from what numbers i tried myself and have read in the forums:


Claimsize 9-29 => 50 Maintenance per Tile
Claimsize 30-59 => 100 Maintenance per Tile
Claimsize 60-89? => 200 Maintenance per Tile
Claimsize 90-250 => xxx Maintenance per Tile? (Assumption)


1 copper gives 100 maintenance.

Can this be correct?
