Stuck at 'patching world'

Post by Stor » 03 Dec 2017, 19:22

Hello!

I am currently unable to get into the game, it was working fine when I logged in this morning but has been broken for the past several hours. It gets stuck at "patching world" after an install or "patching world 0/9" in subsequent launches

Troubleshooting thus far:
1.) Rebooted PC
2.) Repaired game
3.) Uninstalled and reinstalled game

The log file generated is too large to upload here but the last bit of it is as follows. I have let it sit for 20+ minutes with no additional messages other than the foreground/background messages generated by alt-tabbing.

Code: Select all

Uninstalled via windows and removed all traces of this game from my system registry, still stuck on the 'patching world..." part of loading the game.

My character is currently still on the newbie island if that helps at all. This does not appear to be an issue that I can resolve from my end.

I am on the NA server.

I have also given up.
My character transfered to apleland, for what it's worth.

Update:

opening the console with ctrl+~ and typing connecttogameserver when it was stuck at Patching World 0/9 fixed this, I am able to get into the game now.

Now, I can connect to the game but get kicked after about five minutes with the following message:

Image

This means to me that the game is not able to correctly apply the patches and I am getting kicked due to having an incompatible game version.

Any help is appreciated.

Just crtl and ~, no shift required to bring up the console.

One of our guild members was able to get the game working by installing directly to the C drive. He was having a similar issue where it would get stuck on patching.

connecttogameserver got me past 'downloading updates,' finally, then the game kicked me with 'patching failed' or something along those lines.

i tried to connect and it got stuck in 'patching worlx x/9' so i did connecttogameserver again and it got me in the game!

now im having the problem that i cant cross server borders so im stuck anyway lol
