footprint

Post by SaresITA89 » 13 Mar 2014, 12:45

Hello,
I noticed the footprint of the characters.

I want to know how long they stay in sight and whether animals also leave their footprints.

It would be nice if they stayed for half-hour, incentive /encourages pursuits

footfalls should be quieter if walking than if running as well.

Its probably based on some skill you have how long the will last maybe???

They should not last too long if its going to lag the server.

i recall a post where a tracking possibility with hunting is mentioned.

that would be owesome! :Yahoo!:

well if they dont stay too long, otherwise you track a cold trace and that could lead to endless wondering around without a hores ;)

:)

Footprints are just a temporary decals and not even sure if you can see other's footprints.

Animal tracking is a whole another story and when you will use that ability, footprints trace will appear somewhere nearby that should lead you to the animal. and while you're tracking it - it will leave footprints, but only visible to the tracker.

so you will see no random footprints of animals or players - that's just too much of s stress on server and network.

Wow, nice!

Didn't know this was a feature.

Bobik maybe people with tracking skills could track players too?

Yeah, I agree with those that wanna track peeps.

Just imagine a mercenary seeing some tracks. He sits down, puts his fingers on the ground, something brown sticks to his fingers, he brings it to his nose and smells it. It was "Bobik". Finally he will kill his nemesis. He then sets of to hunt him.

And then depending on skills etc, the track might lead him to the player, or lead him into bandit camp that will rape him. :good:

so when you use the skill tracking, it will only then show you the footprints that might be around you from animals and you can start tracking them?

thats very reasonable and saves server load, since usualy when you dont need it you dont watch the footprints much.

as for tracking other players for me has a much lower priority, since you will get stalked much on visual contact anyways and the deep forest would be a place where you find relative peace. but then ofc it would be a nice feature to track down other players. but it needs to be balanced and should have a counter skill like "smudge" tracks or the ability to set up a trap... ;)

Being able to track another player if he's in the same "square" would be a really nice addition. You could become some sort of bounty hunter, hunting people down for dem gold coins.
