Is the winter in the south shorter?

Is the non growing season of winter map wide and if so, is the non grow time shorter in the south vs. the north?

Yes, winter in the south should end in the next few rl days. In the north it will be about a week or two longer.

So from what I understand winter is longer the farther north you go and shorter the farther south you go. However, the south receives less rain and rain is also helpful in growing crops. So while the south has the longest grow season, the center regions are the ideal farming areas.
