the ultimate fight... Puting away ur weapon and run!

Hello,


since a long time the most disturbing for me is that 60% of people fight this way:


They hit u, press R and run away, when u run after them, they hit u again and press R again and do it over and over. So basically u can never run after them. This fighting style is very disturbing and isnt fitting intro this game at all. (even people with plate can run like this from people with chain or what ever). On top if this, if they have a xbow, they will shoot ur back once u start turning back. If u have 2 people doing this, its impossible to ever catch them, (which is kinda fine, u dont have to catch them) but every time they can just come back and repeat and u cant do shit.


But its also not about this skirmishing thing, its also about people who hit u, use r and turn back and hit again becuz u either got ur weapons out still and 2 far away to hit or u took them off to go after them.

There should be like a small timer, every time u put away ur weapon, u are slowed by 40% for 4 seconds or something.

Otherwise this will keep going, this fighting style it wanted by the devs - would be good if u tell me so i can stop to play the game right away :)

It is called the hit and run style or boom and zoom.

It is easy to counter. If you have a two handed weapon wait till you see them turn to run to attack you, then charge your attack and hit them spin look down and hit R and run the direction they are headed.

If you are using a shield, you have really nothing to worry about, all you have to do is just time the block or put the shield in the way. They will run out of stamina before you will.

Last option is have a crossbow. They turn and run, shoot them in the back as they run.

It's used, because it's effective.

It looks stupid and it is stupid.
It's dodging gamemechanics.

The combat in this game will need a lot of work anyway.

Making it reliant on the in-combat sprint isn't a solution either, because the combat-stance sprint looks like the characters are juggling a turd in their pants.

I love all of the people who hate on the "sprint" in combat mode. Fact is it really isnt a sprint, its a run, and it is ugly looking but have you ever tried to run while being ready to swing anything?

It is extremely difficult for the human body to run, and swing a weapon with any meaningful force while doing it. You actually generate MORE force with your feet firmly planted then you do moving. Just cartoons make it look like the other way.

Every martial arts manuscript teaches the same basic principle, force is generated from the ground up. Doesnt matter if it is Asian, or European.
