Right now the windmill is just there for looks and not for usability, which is pretty sad.

Actually the windmill is pretty good.

Considering its exchange rate is better than grinding manually. You get 3:1 wheat to flour vs 5:1 manually.

It takes longer but you also DONT have to manually do it. So set it and forget it.

The quality of the building effects the quality of the flour and that is a good thing. Higher the quality of the building the higher the quality of the flour.

The 3:1 ratio is nice and that you don't have to do it manually is great but it only processes 30 wheat per in-game day, that is just not competitive enough with the Quern-stone doing it manually and its a 90 advanced farming skill i just expected a bit more of it being advertised as mass production.

We just use it for a glorified watch tower, between the horrid noise it makes and how little it produces its just not worth using.

EDIT: - MORE INFO AT END OF POST
So I made 2 because...soooo pretty! And I had 4000 wheat to process.

Ugh I used a quern stone and made 25 flour in 3 minutes and if the windmill makes 10 in 5 hours, something is very wrong with these numbers! Surely the windmill should produce more in 5 hours?!

What a pointless thing to have in the game.

edit:
So I loaded up both the windmills with 300 wheat each and started them at 2:30am, I then left them, I logged back in 12 hours later this is what i have found:

Windmill A - 16800 starting durability, 200 damage resistance. 300 wheat.
in 12 hours: processed half of that (150 wheat left) and produced 50 flour. So that would make it approx 2.4 hours to produce 10 flour.

Windmill B - 16400 starting durability, 200 DR, 300 wheat.
in 12 hours: processed 120 wheat into 40 flour. approx 3 hours to produce 10 wheat.

Hopefully some of this information is helpful.

Funny our windmill doesn't take that long. I think it went through all the wheat we had in there 90wt worth, in about 4-6 hours.

The only real issue is that it stops every server reset. Maybe it is the quality of the windmill that is effecting you. Ours is about 91ql overall.

Whatever you're smoking please find out if it's legal to ship across state lines, i'd like some.

If it's prescription medication then thank your doctor, it's some strong stuff ...

Lol it processes 30 wheat every 5 hours no matter what the quality of the windmill is ours is 88 Quality.

I will check with our farmer tonight and see how long it takes.

But it doesn't matter because it is a "set it and forget it" process.

I edited my original post on here but will post it here too, this is what I found.

I still think it needs tweaking some, thats still a long time for a level 90 building.

We just started using our windmill when we finally had someone hit 90 and we all feel the same. Just because it is set and forget doesn't mean the numbers are really low.

The amount of space it takes up is huge. We are built on a mountain top so town and realm claim space is at a premium. It has high material and level requirements to build, and the amount it pumps out seems pretty low. I don't think it needs to be crazy high or crazy efficient, but it definitely needs to be up'd some to be worthwhile.

It does make a good watch tower though, lol.
