You cannot gather flax stem anymore

Only seeds appearing. So if you not leveled your farming and grow some before winter, or you just started during the winter - you can just leave the game until summer comes because no ropes for you.

And I just gave all of mine away to someone yesterday because I figured I'd farm up higher quality bunches anyway.
