hey all im having trouble finding clay for the furnace any ideas how i can obtain it

You can find clay usually near water it looks like dirt. Get a shovel and go to terraforming and lower the ground to pick it up.

If it's on the surface, it has a kind of red-ish brown dirt-like color instead of the gray-ish color of other surface soil. Not too difficult to distinguish from grass once you see it.

Just "lower the ground" on various non-grass tiles and you'll find some clay eventually.

You can also see it on the mini map on surface. Zoom all the way in. Look for little reddish brown streaks on the map. Very small. But once you learn to spot them, they are plentiful enough. Most around the lake.

you might have to make a run for it and bring it back with you.
