Well at least after the big protest of yesterday we got more JHs which even if it's not the amount that was once stated it's still more PvP content.

I agree, you can't really do any damage at this moment, unless some dumb people use the realm claim for some good stuff.

Which is, I suspect, 90% of the people bitching about the amount of JHs now.

It all goes back to...

Yea, this should be how it works, but many people instead prefer to build a poorly designed base and pretend that it will defend itself...
Most of us got experience back in YO, instead of bitching and complaining we got better at building each time we were raided.

Exactly, learn from failure, get better.

This is the problem with todays generation, they all have been spoon fed and given participation trophies and told they did a good job. Instead of just telling them.. well you failed, get better.

Its alright dude atleast you didnt bust out the kneepads and get down on your knees...like some of these veterans did. Even though the fully disagree with bobik the kneepad game is strong in some of these late AMA streams.

Tell that to Sanctuary, who lost a lot last night during JH on Buyan, hah! Poor them ;)

It's their fault if they built in the realm claim. I play in avalon so I don't know them, but still it's good to see that some people build important stuff in the realm claim, so we can actually see some sieges.

This whole discussion about PvP and sieges is based on the idea that the game functions. But, it doesn't function. Lag is unbearable. Servers go down often, and people literally can't log on to defend claims or even attack. The game is a joke, so any positions based on "good" defense or "bad" defense, or smart planning is moot when the game doesn't work.

It's one thing to lose a siege because you're outplayed. It's another thing to lose a siege because your guild can't log onto the server.

"38% of the 278 reviews are positive"

This is the current state of the game.

Many servers are outnumbered, cause many lands are poor.
Last week's, servers was more stable, bur group of "mega pvp players" forced to increase JH, and this ruin stability of servers.
JH is just alternative mechanic and it's never will work correct and fair, don't know why players ask for more JH, it's stupid, it pulls a lot of effort for JH hours correction from completion of the system IB and SG system...

I can answer for the 1000th time to those, who barely were not giving any attention to the game at all since its development, were not looking at the devs blogs and were actaully not caring about anything outside of their carrot farms on their PVE servers. To those, who open their mouths just under a crowd-instinct influence.

Longer and more frequent JHs were planned since CBT and it was mentioned by devs numerous times even during CBT. It was not a forced decision by anyone you call "small PVP group" (I just like that first they call em "small PVP group" they they say "ah we are zerged by dis 300+ guilds". Zerged by a "small PVP group" :D .

Heres the link for those who are ignorant enough to skip any study before assuming anything.

development-news-81-mdash-slowly-turning-up-the-heat-t27480/

By enabling these PvP events we expect that the PvP heat will increase a little bit in the game. ;) If everything goes well with the first JH test, then we plan to slowly increase the number of days and duration of the JHs, reaching a final schedule of 2-3 hour long JHs during weekend evenings and 1-hour long JHs during weekday evenings.

Read twice times your quote. And see what with JH on Avalon was implemented. Find difference? Good. If not, stop spam this =)

P.S. Slowly increase the number of days and duration of the JH - No. x8 increase it's not slowly.
Final schedule of 2-3 hour long JHs during weekend evenings and 1-hour long JHs during weekday evenings - No. 1 hour on weekday - Take 2.

Read once again then. We had 1 JH on OBT Avalon just because the JH was unstable. They dont implement more JH because it does not make sense since they are not working. Why implementing more of something that does not work? Good. So right now, once again, we dont have more JHs because THEY ARE NOT WORKING BECAUSE OF LAG ISSUE.

Now as for slowly. The word "slowly" does not mean "less". If they find a solution for lags, theres obviously no reason to slowly introduce more JHs, but its hard to guess for sure. Maybe they still will do that slowly. Does not matter at all. It has no quantitative notion in itslef. Its the notion of speed of implementation of the same quantity.

Now it seems you dont get what was the meeting Bobik vs Big alliances about. It was about Avalon having more JHs instead of one, as Bobik suddenly decided to make a separate PVP server with more JHs once JHs will be stable, while Avalon will always have 1 JH like now. After a discussion, it was decided that Avalon will have more JHs as promised once JHs will be stable.

Seems you totally don't see difference between "more" and "less", and also was not know about servers stability (they bad even without JH's) before PVP-status.

It was possible first to do 2-hour JH on weekend, and test it. For what a reason to do 2-h JH on weekdays, when was anonced max 1-h JH on a day i don't now.
Avalon now have less JHs as promised, but they more longer than promised.
As soon as Wednesday JH are canceled, it looks like compromise.

I am astonished at the attitude of PVE/RP-ers in their comments to what PVP players want from this game, on PVP servers, in a game a marketed as a PVP sandbox game!

Leave PVP server rules for the PVPers please. And if you are offended, and want another home than the PVP servers, you should get a free ticket to do PVE someplace else. On another server. Perhaps with a bunch of materials to re-build what you had made. And that's it.

There is no sandbox without destruction of keeps and castles, and without looting. Nothing should be 100% safe. It should just take time and effort to tear things down. There is no sandbox if there is complete safety. Anywhere.

If you are the lone guild on a server full of enemies. And you are 5 friends with alts running it in a casual game style. With no allied guilds. Guess what? You deserve to get shredded and have your castle burn! And what a joyous fest of an event it shall be.

There will be nations warring on nations, if everything will be destructible - with effort - taking time. If any door can be broken down with a few minutes of ponding, and crates and chests broken into. It's called incentive to PVP. Just make it take a long while, so off-peak destruction doesn't occur.

And nations will not last forever. People will quarrel and disagree, kingdoms will split up and divide, re-align and in-fight. THAT IS THE FUN!!! For PVPers. On a PVP server.

-inb4 server stability issues, reserve 50 spots (or abt half server capability) on a server map for the native guilds. That way attacking a server with all it can handle doesn't block defence.
-add ladders. Make raiding a slow process so off-peak ninjas can't easily empty a keep.

REVIVE THE SANDBOX - ENABLE MEANINGFULL PVP - SAVE THE GAME!

PS. And if noone likes the pvp server, it'll just die won't it? PVE servers will thrive if we are wrong. There is nothing to lose! Let PVPers decide PVP rules.

Where you see PVE/RP players there?
There are just PVP players and No-rule players that want to destroy empty bases without any resistance, for the sake of which and were increased JH on weekdays.
Anybody understand that it is hard to solve such big lags on servers that happen on JH's.

I'm stand for expansion of IB/SG and claim systems, cause it have more logic, planing and pvp than JH's, without it, it's just hack and slash game. I don't want to burn empty towns, I want normal battles and normal sieges, that not connected in any way with JH's, they are hinder and create a bunch of exploits (sush a exploit with alligement, when after JH all alligiments can be random). And think there are many ppl who think so.
If you divide servers on PVE and PVP, PVE will dead.
If you divide servers on 'every day JH' and 'every day IB and SG', JH server will dead or have around 500-600 online.

I see the difference between more and less. I just cant get it what did you want to tell me with that and where you were aiming. Probably you were offended that I pointed out that you totally mixed "slow" and "less". No problem with that.

Yes, server stability is bad even without JH. So? JH is more instable as there are even more players during JH at one claster. You cant fix JH stability until you fix the general server stability. No doubt. Was not a topic for discussion though.

Avalon was never promised to have less JH. Read the dev blog. It was promised too have daily JHs. Then it was promised not to have daily JHs but still some on weekdays and both weekends. And it was decided to stick to that plan.

Wednesday JH was cancelled not because of some compsomise with those, who call themselves PVE Lif players. It was cancelled again DUE TO stability issues. I personally was at the time it should have been. THere was a fight with 1800 ping.

Again repeat: promised 1-h JH on weekdays, why did 2-h? It's overplaned. Everyday 1-h (on weekday) is less then 2-h at day in weekdays, cause u can deal much more damage, and working ppl's will lose all play time just to prepear defend (2-h for JH and u need time for IB or SG), and it seems that on Wednesday and Friday Avalon only pvp-trash-server, and it lead to bad situation, when ppls who play all day and have no real life prepare to attack at day and each day attack normal players in JH, as soon as they will not have time for pve, they will lose soon. Don't think it is normal game.

Well its pretty hard to evaluate how long JH should be to satisfy everyone since it should be a balance of duration and frequency. As Avalon is considered a server with a more hardcore PVP ruleset (which is mostly about the amount of JH) it is pretty evident that the duration and frequency of the JH should be satisfying those who are most active at PVP there, i think. Judging by my personal experience here and back in YO, 1H for JH is pretty like no JH at all, taking into account that we have a broader scale PVP here. Also the current protection of Town claim does not actually make any sense out of JH at all, since theres pretty nothing important for you to do as your enemy probably has everything on his town claim (if hes smart enough).

And mate this game is designed as hardcore MMORPG. Its not a mobile app where playing for 10min occasionally is enough. It is aimed at hardcore gamers who play pretty much, though even those who dont have enough time can play here, but theyl need a backbone of those who are hardcore. Even while playing not much you have lots of protection mechanisms compared to games like ARK, Rust etc. You have claim system, you can hide inside houses, you can just push flee and run into water. Lots of em.

We have a vanilla ruleset servers with less JHs. People can go there and play there, if Avalon hardcore settings dont fit them.

I guess you are talking on behalf of tiny guilds.. Tiny guilds with no friends should have a problem. Which leads to politics, coalitions, alliances etc. If you don't have any friends on your server, then you will be forced to vassal or move. You can't have a hardcore PVP server with scheduled PVP catering to tiny guilds who only want to be weekend warriors...

No, it's not not the state of the game, it's the state of the raging steam saltcrew. Morons downvoting an Early Access game for having Early Access game issues. *slow clap*

If they had an inkling of a clue, they'd make that call on the basis of things like game design, potential game play, artistic style. :fool:

Re: Current state of the game

Anyone with an IQ above 12 knows that Avalon was to have JH and it was to be the main pvp server. Now your words of "PVP avalon trash srv" sadly evade my expression.

This is a pvp game. it is supposed to be pvp game. Seeing ppl like you call out for crying pvpers and now you cry cause of actual JH, this is what makes my heart glad. Same for anyone who is a 'pvper'.

At the moment are the private claims and the T1 city claims way too overpowered. You can build overnight a mini fortress (Drying frame or Paliside) directly next to the targeted guild an they can do NOTHING to protect themself. Its not possible to enter it (because of drop mechanic) or to destroy it even while JH. Its pretty silly how the guilds are using this heedless private claim mechanic to destroy the enemies. I hope the devs will find fast a solution for this disaster.

No, it's not not the state of the game, it's the state of the raging steam saltcrew. Morons downvoting an Early Access game for having Early Access game issues. *slow clap*

If they had an inkling of a clue, they'd make that call on the basis of things like game design, potential game play, artistic style. :fool:

That's funny, some of the reviews are from people that indicated they were/are on this forum and have been with the game from the beginning. Also most of the bad reviews are of the same concerns expressed in this very thread. Also most negative comments use the same criteria you mention, and it's the positive comments that lack any sort of proper evaluation.

So do you feel like a big man calling people morons? I'm not sure of what's going on with regards to this forum, but I have seen others get banned for far less than calling others morons.

Current Realm Claim siege meta.

Make a private monument, drying racks or palisade walls, put carts with ammo inside, log off, build treb in JH and shoot nonstop for 2 hours without anyone being able to stop you.
Actually for the pic I showed you could still barbox inside (only in JH if they made the claim larger) and try to kill those shooting, but if the raiders were smart enough they could have made a roof of primitive sleeping bags (or any other object) thus no access was possible in that claim except for those who were already inside / logged off inside.
Invulnerable Private claims are broken and they need to be changed.

Game breaking.

We are aware of this problem with private claims and we're working on certain counter mechanics ;)
